The FADOQ Montreal Island Region games inspire us to move all year long. Let’s begin as soon as May, National Month for sport and physical activity!

Being in good physical condition is synonymous with being healthy. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), to improve health: one must MOVE! MOVING proves to be ESSENTIAL! It is essential to counter isolation, solitude and to develop social bonds as well as satisfying self esteem. To remain in good physical condition is the most efficient and least expensive medicine to reduce stress and bring the assurance of well-being to all.

FADOQ – Montreal Island Region has assembled, during its 42 years of existence, some 25 000 men and women 50 years and older. This association is a key player in the promotion of quality of life and healthy habits, namely by offering recreational, cultural and diversified and accessible sporting activities. For the past 17 years it has been holding its annual games, this year from May 1st to 9, where 12 sporting and recreational disciplines are displayed:  badminton, running, golf, walk, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, pocket baseball, bowling, sandbag and more. Register until April 23 2014 by calling 514 271-1411.

This large gathering assembles close to 700 participants, with the intention of demonstrating that people 50 years and older are a real active force and that practising physical activity is an essential component to their well-being.

« In addition to reaping the advantages of physical activity, the games promote conviviality between participants, pleasure and self transcendence», stated Mr. Ghislain Bilodeau, president of the FADOQ – Montreal Island Region.

FADOQ- Montreal Island Region is proud to count Groupe Forget, audioprosthetists as one of its official sponsors for its sporting events.
